Statement Raymond: “I've decided to leave Comaniac. It was not an easy decision for me as there were no human, musical or other differences. So why do I leave? Well, when I entered the metal scene as a kid a long time ago, it was a place of freedom and rebellion for me. Through my activities in bands I also got in touch with the metal business. In my opinion the business behind metal music is the pure opposite of the thought of rebellion. Why, for example, do label bosses drive luxury cars while the internationally successful bands can hardly make a living from their income? And I’m talking about much bigger acts than Comaniac to be clear. Don't get me wrong, I am aware that labels work for artists and should be paid fair for this. In the metalbiz however exploitation and abuse of power are seen as normal and the artist is always the last in line although in my opinion there could be no business without artists. As a fan, when I buy CDs and merchandise, I want to support bands and the people who work for them. What I don't want to support is the greed of certain parties. I am convinced that it is in our hands which type of business models we support to create the world we want to live in. But to achieve that, we need to develop an awareness of where our actions are leading to. Therefore it is no longer justifiable for me to let all my energy and passion flow into these channels. Besides all the negative points I would also like to thank all the cool people I met on our tours, the bands we had a great time with and the people who worked with much dedication and passion for the band and last but not least Jonas, Stefan and Valentin for a great time and friendship.” ...
